WISH I HAD PICTURES

OK...last weekend i did the coolest thing and have no way to prove it cuz stupid me forgot to put new batteries in my camera...so now this hat that i bought bill is the only thing i have to show for it...oh...and this....my ticket stub....we went to Harrah's in K.C. and saw Merle Haggard in concert....it was so cool...the man is like..what...80 years old....and still sounds awesome....my nephew called and had scored some fee tickets, and no one hesitated... me, my brother, and my other nephew took off in the car and went to Brunswick and kidnapped Bill from work and off we went..i was the DD for the evening and it stormed like a mother all the way home...but it was way worth it...Bill got so drunk...it was hilarious...we had a really good night...talk to everyone soon...

WOW....THAT IS ALL I CAN SAY

I'm told that there is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy.25 in rural Iowa. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed. It's quite an impressive sight. Be sure to scroll down and check out the multiple photos (all angles) of the rock. I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock too.

At the young age of 15, Gottfried began doing stand-up at open mike nights in New York City and, after a few short years, became known around town as "the comedian's comedian." After spending several years conquering the art of stand-up comedy, producers of the NBC late night comedy show Saturday Night Live became aware of Gottfried and, in 1980, hired him as a cast member. It wasn't until a few years later when his true notoriety would begin when MTV hired him for a series of improvised and hilarious promos for the newly formed channel. This led to several television appearances on "The Cosby Show" and "Late Night with David Letterman."
Gottfried’s work in television soon led to roles in film. Most memorable was his improvised scene as business manager Sidney Bernstein in the hit sequel "Beverly Hills Cop II," for which the New York Daily News said that “Gilbert Gottfried steals the picture with a single scene.” He appeared in such movies as "Problem Child," "Problem Child II," "Look Who's Talking II" and "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane." He was also the host of the very popular late night movie series "USA Up All Night."
After his performance as the wise ass parrot, IAGO, in the Disney classic "Aladdin," Gottfried became one of the most sought after voice over talents. His signature voice can be heard in several commercials, cartoons and movies, including the frustrated duck in the AFLAC Insurance commercials.
So here is to one of my favorite comedians. I remember watching him in several different movies and television shows. I especially remember him for his USA Up All Night. I have been a night owl most of my life and night time television has always been one of my close friends..HEHEHE

This is one of my favorite quotes and one that I attempt to live my life by. When I was in school I was pretty much the "class clown". I had a lot of different things going on in my life, and I found that by making other people laugh I could escape my own pain even if just for a little while. I guess that it just kinda stuck after a while. As some of my readers know, I created this blog as a place to find my voice. I know who I used to be, I know who wanna be, but I can't seem to find who I am right now. I am a mother. I am a wife. Other than that, I am a little lost. I am really comfortable being myself around my husband and kids, and there is never a shortage of laughter around our house. For some reason though, I have trouble letting that side of myself out when I am around other people. This, sometimes, makes me come across as insecure which makes it difficult to make new friends. I spent my whole life in a very small rural community in central Missouri, and never ever had a shortage of friends. These are the people that I am still most comfortable around. Maybe this is why I have had a hard time adjusting to living where I am now. I wanna go home. Bill has told me that I can look for a house back home, and the kids are very excited about going back to where all of our family is. So, as soon as it is financially possible, I will be going home. Sorry, got off the subject a little. I guess what I was saying is this......If by bringing laughter to some other person, you bring some peace of mind to yourself, then you win. If you touch just one person with your humor, and can bring a smile to another's face, then you will go far in this life. So, in conclusion, don't ever be afraid to be yourself no matter how goofy that self may be.

HOLY SHIT !! IS THIS MY HOUSE ??

Ladies and gentleman, I think she finally got it. Tonight was the first time in two years that I got to come home from work to a clean house. I sat down and had a long talk w/ my babysitter today, and I think I finally got through. Bill and I put up this big ass poster board labeled NEW RULES. I explained each one and what I expected from her and the kids. I will share my rules w/ you. It is nothing too difficult.

1. NO PLAYSTATION (that is all she used to do)
2. Kids will be cleaned up and in PAJAMA's before going to bed (the pajama thing is a serious pet peeve of mine...i don't like finding my kids in clothes while they are sleeping.)
3. Bedrooms will be picked up before bedtime.
4. CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF (the kids are not your slaves)
5. Please feed my children REAL food.
6. Include EVERYONE in activities.

*BILL AND I WILL NO LONGER PAY YOU FOR DOING NOTHING !!!!!!

So, this is all I ask of my babysitter. Hopefully, tonight was not a one time deal. I don't expect any miracles, I just have to know that when I am not home, that my kids are SAFE and well taken care of. I have to know that my kids are not eating junk and doing unsafe activities ....(like the time they rode the mattress down the stairs and put a hole in my wall).

I don't expect her to be me, but my rules should always apply !!!! I think the worst part about this whole deal is that my babysitter, who is a very shy and loving girl, has a mother who takes all of her babysitting money to pay her bills because she won't go get a job. So sometimes her mom will make her call me and ask for more money. Her mother and I have had it out over this numerous times, but I am not gonna punish the child for the ways of her mother. I hope this new side of her remains, and then maybe I can put my mind at ease. I just want my kids to be well taken care of when I can't be here. That is all for NOW !!!!

Someone please tell me what kind of role model this is for 2 small children. Popping in and out of rehab centers is not a smart move for someone involved in a child custody battle. It is known that Federline intends to ask the court for support and sole custody of Jayden James, 5 months, and Sean Preston, 17 months. After Spears moved to end their two-year marriage in November, a temporary order issued Feb. 1 granted joint custody through this month. I just wish she could get her head on straight, her career on track, and do what she needs to do for those 2 babies. Britney, what happened to you.:????

Not what you were expecting was it???? The tallest and biggest woman in the world lives in Holland. She is 7'4" and weighs 320 pounds. What a relief !!!! Now we ALL know.... we aren't overweight, just tooooooo short!!!! That is what I've been saying for years !!!!!!!!!!!!!

MANY TALENTED PEOPLE

My sister sent me a couple of e-mails over the last couple of days that i simply feel the need to share. I have no doubt in my mind that this world is full of extremely gifted and talented people, some of them you just don't hear about very often...so I am not going to say much in this blog, I will simply let the following pictures speak for themselves. WELL TODAY IS HERE

.....WELL Today is the here....the least favorite day of the year for many. Valentine's Day is the busiest days of the year for most flower shops in this country. Unfortunately, after all these years, the men in our lives still do not get us. We do not want flowers. We do not want candy or flowers. OK.. maybe I am talking for myself, but hey..this is my page so I can. I have not received anything from Bill as of this moment and do not know what I will get, if anything. But the statements I made above are true for me. I want something for Valentine's Day that proves that my husband knows who I am and understands me. It could be something as simple as a book or a card. As long as it comes from him, all is good. Now I know some of you out there absolutely despise Valentine's Day. Believe me, I used to be one of them. Most people that harbor ill feelings towards this holiday are either alone, or with someone who needs to get a clue. I know that when it comes to Bill, I have to start giving clues a couple of weeks in advance. You know all the little things you do w/out even thinking about it. Lingering over a watch set a little longer than necessary to make sure he sees you.....mentioning off-handed someplace you haven't eaten in a while....and of course there is always the "I wish I had" line that can always be used as long as it does not immediately precede the holiday. Time changes the gift giving process in any relationship. Bill no longer asks what I want, he just buys something...and sometimes he just buys anything. I love the man to death, but he says I am hard to shop for, it is just untrue. I am the most easy person to shop for. I like just about everything. The only thing that hinders my Valentine's Day gift receiving is that my birthday is 2 days later and usually Bill feels he has to combine the two days and get me something big. I don't need anything big. I just wanna know he still loves me after 9 years. I think that deep down that is all anyone wants to know. So....Happy Valentine's Day everyone....Enjoy your dying flowers....

IT'S MONDAY AGAIN

Well another weekend gone. It was pretty much the same of any other except Bill and I went to the casino Saturday. I had no luck. Lost almost everything I took. Bill on the hand, like usual, won on the blackjack table. We had a good time. We had a lot of people that went with us and we had a really good time. Sunday we had to make up Friday nights bowling league. We didn't get to bowl Friday because our lane broke down. We could have took all three, but I totally choked on the 3rd game and we lost by 13 pins. Bill took today off because he worked Saturday, so we are using today to get a lot of stuff done. We are getting vehicles inspected and licenses renewed. All that grown up stuff that we wish we could avoid but can't. So I don't have anything exciting to write in this blog, but I will try to add another one later tonight to amuse. I have decided to tell some stories from the past, so look for those in future blogs. Hope everyone has a good week.

THE IDIOCRACY'S OF THE DRUNK

Not much to write about today. I worked tonight, and as you all know, I am a bartender. So I decided I would dedicate tonight's blog to the brilliance of the average drunk. Let me just start off by saying that I am so in the wrong line of business. First off, I hate drunks. Second, I have a very bad temper and a very short fuse. Take these two character traits and add them to working during Thursday night pool league, and you are just asking for trouble. I am usually very good at holding my temper when it comes to my job here in Brunswick because I know everyone that comes in there. But sometimes, there is not enough patience in the world to deal w/ a small town drunk. Alcohol can cause even the nicest person in the world to turn into a major first class prick. Friends want to fight friends. Wives get pissed off at their husband. Someone talks or touches someone else in a way that they normally wouldn't. All of these things combined can sometimes make for a very volatile situation. There were no fist fights tonight, but there were two shoving matches and one very loud argument. Not to mention the owner came walking in from a craps game w/ his face covered in blood and all cut up. He had been invited to a friends to play craps and I guess some young punk got pissed and tried to start shit w/ him. He grabbed him and through him down on the slick ice causing all of the scratches and blood. When my boss regained his footing the punk ran for the house. He apparently was not looking for a fair fight. Anyway, the point of this story is......If you are going to drink, drink in moderation..because even if you don't remember what you said and did...you can almost guarantee that someone else will. And most people think that they are hilarious when they have had a few drinks, but more than not...someone will not think you are so funny. So, in closing, if you go out to have a good time make sure that you can remember it the next morning or you may find yourself being snubbed by your favorite bartender and not know why...Have a great weekend.

JUST ANOTHER DAY

It is Tuesday...nothing special about Tuesday's. I talked to my sister for a bit, cleaned some house, did some laundry, and watched tv. It is still flipping cold outside. I hate winter time, even when it is beautiful. Man, my life is really boring when the kids are at school.
On a side note, I would like to take a moment to talk about chat rooms. Since I was bored this morning I decided to take a peak at some of the available chat rooms since I have not entered one in over 9 years. I no longer need to go to the love or relationship rooms since I am very happily married, and Missouri doesn't have any chat rooms for locals to gather. So I decided that a parenting chat room was probably my safest bet. Boy was I wrong.! The second my finger clicked the mouse to connect to the room, I was bombarded by 7...count them..7 people instant messaging me. What is wrong with these people? All 7 people typed broken English as if foreign, And all 7 people had absolutely NO info in their profiles. Now, out of these 7 people, 5 of them went away quietly. Unfortunately the other 2 were not quite as accommodating. One of them kept buzzing me over and over again...The other would not stop typing...I told him no thank you, I am busy....but he would not stop. He tried to add me to his IM and then kept telling me that if I was a proper lady I would speak to him. I had finally had enough. I closed out of the room and disappeared.
So ladies and gentleman, my question remains the same....WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE???...Is this what I should expect every time I try to go in to a chat room? I thought I was going in there to talk to other mom's about parenting, considering it was a parenting chat room, guess I was wrong. I am not looking for any foreigner to marry so he can have his citizenship. I am not looking for anything actually. I just thought it would be good to see what other parents do w/ their children...ie...discipline, problems, and support. Unfortunately I have no idea what was being said in the room because I was trying to clear my screen of instant messenger boxes. This is my complaint for the day. Thank you for listening and I will talk to everyone tomorrow.
